I'm actually speaking to myself here, but I'm wondering if anyone cares to share what they feel is their funniest HOTD happening?

  • Funniest happening: bar story

    Fri, January 9, 2004 - 1:18 PM
Sad and pathetic maybe, funny is up to you.

I was tending bar, and a pretty young thing comes up and asks, "so, what is this (the camp)? What goes on here?" She being fairly young and too cute to not mess with, I decide to card her. I said we're a bar, and that I'd need to see some ID. After initial astonishment that I would dare ask such a thing, she quickly became indignant, and stormed off. I mused that somehow I managed to offend someone at Burning Man. OK, I think that's pretty funny.

I did not see this for myself but I heard of the legend of DRS#1 getting fisted on the bar and peeing all over everyone with megaphone in hand, broadcasting the whole affair. I asked at the barrel and was told it was the truth. Can to tell more?

I did see Spankster dry hump a young girl. This was shortly after she confessed to sex with monkeys on the Jerry Springer show at HOTD bar. This made me laugh anyway.

Yes, here's a bit about it on the eplaya, eplaya.burningman.com/viewtopic.php

I remember D-Mo being pretty, umm, pissed, when he found out that Anomaly marked his chair.

Ah yes, I remember this incident well, and can provide more details to give you the whole story.

While jamming on the stage one day, Anomaly came up and requested we play an Irish drinking song type melody to which she sang alternate lyrics that someone else had reportedly written about her. It was bad, to say the least, but it was what you'd expect from HOTD, so it was cool.

The next day, I walked up to the bar to find Anomaly antogonizing everyone with a megaphone, and upon seeing me she began to tell everyone that I was to blame for anything and everything that went wrong with anyone's Burning Man experience, because put simply, I was asshole. I told her that if she has something to say in this bar, she better get her ass on stage to say it. She got up on stage and began a long rant with a group of backup jammers (including the Jim the 14 year old drummer god) that can be found on ET's Resonant Mobile site under the title AnomalyJazz.mp3. I told her in so many words where to stick her opinions and served her a shot of tequila while she ranted on stage.

After this madness ensued, she sat at the bar while I was tending and continued to antogonize everyone with the megaphone. I found this quite entertaining and served her a few more shots of tequila. After a while she asked us at the bar if we could help her to get laid, and our advice to her was to get back up on stage and make a public service announcement.

I left to do something else, and when I came back there she was in a chair at the table being serviced by another young lady. I walked up and said as rudely as I possibly could while interrupting, "Oh, I suppose I am to blame for this as well!" and then served her yet another shot of tequila.

The show continued, but afterwards Anomaly passed out in a most uncomfortable position. With the help of a few loadies I had recruited we moved her into my most comfortable camping barka lounger, which she later marked as her territory as Captain said.

All in all I enjoyed her antics, as I was feeling quite antogonistic that day and she helped me to find an outlet for all that negative energy. I was indeed P.O.'d when I found my beloved barka lounger soiled, but was grateful to Captain for stopping me and pulling me out of that funk by reminding me that it is all good.

Yes, that was it. I can even remember hearing those lyrics and playing the tune. Thanks for that.

in 2001 I ran off a couple of loadies who were getting ready to take a piss on the aroma theropy tent. This made the guys on the roof laugh pretty hard. Then there was the time I just couldn't quit laughing due to sleep deprivation.

A short history of the "Whiskey And Herring" Song

              Mon, December 6, 2004 - 12:12 PM
"Whiskey and Herring" began one cold, snowy winter night at L'Hotel Lasser (since closed) in midtown Baltimore. DRS #1 and Jason-From-Swath (a member of her East Coast boy-harem) had been running up and down Calvert Street trying to get tranny hookers in unseasonable clothing to accept warming drinks of whiskey, out of simple human compassion. Having unaccountably failed to do so, DRS #1 drank the whiskey herself, ate a fistful of snack-size herring bits, and kissed Jason-From-Swath. The refrain ("Whiskey and herring, whiskey and herring, my girl tastes like whiskey and herring!") was born.

Several months later and thousands of miles away, whilst cruising down San Francisco Bay on a beautiful spring day aboard the White Holly, Jason-From-Swath, his adoptive sister Befernie, and yours truly sat down with too much beer and wrote a number of verses, which we then made sure to sing at the top of our lungs, scaring the aquatic wildlife. DRS #1 blushed, which I'd have thought impossible.
